Challenge
Curepals business model for their online social website for children is to generate revenue through subscriptions, ads and in game purchasing. Burton Design Group was challenged to create their portfolio of games that would be fun and entertaining and would have components that would allow for users to be able to purchase virtual goods.
Solution
To start out with Burton Design Group created a 3D avatar builder that allowed users to personalize their online profile. User can purchase shirts, pants, shorts, shoes, hair and even skin tones. BDG also created a 3D flash racing games Go Kart Racers. The racing game has 3 tracks and 3 different go karts that users can upgrade with money they win in the game. BDG helped Curepals integrate the games with their online virtual goods store using their custom web store API.
Result
The Curepals website has been gaining a lot of traction and picking up momentum since it launched. Users really love the avatar builder, racing game and social features of the website.
